In my high school career there have been many chances for me to show my prowess in the English language.  There are a couple times that stick out in my mind that I really felt like it could be my best work.  In creative writing we had to make either a power point or video show casing an I am poem we created, I put a lot of hard work into mine and I think it turned out really well.  The other piece that sticks out was one of the first projects I ever did in an English class; we were challenged to make a skit about the Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey.  I made that whole project over a weekend, but I was so clever in it that I receive a hundred percent on it.

 

The I am video was, probably my best work in an English class ever.  My whole class loved it and I was proud to show it to them.  I put everything into, I wrote about my history and my life now and who exactly I am.  Which at the time was something I was unsure about myself, but this project really put things in perspective for me.  I am glad that I got to do it and I am proud of what I created. The Odyssey skit was one of the first things I ever did in a high school English class.  I had to write out a whole entire skit for my partner and me and then I had to act it out in front of the class.  The thought and the clever word play I put into it made it shine amongst the others in the class and I receive a hundred percent on it.  I was creative with how I wanted to do the skit which lead to me being inspired to actually do it.  This inspiration is what lead me to put so much effort into it, and allowed it to be so great.

 

I inspired myself to do the best work I could in my English classes, by making them fun.  I am so glad I learned this skill my freshman year, because without I would not have done as well as I have in my classes.  I learned to work hard for myself which is a skill that will carry me far in life.  If I do not need other things to inspire me to work, I am less likely to procrastinate and I will put the adequate effort into every assignment.  This will allow me to be successful without the assistance of others.
