Exhibit: Stress Management Power Point and Design Tech Website
Benchmark: Academic
Skill: Top pieces of work Health and Technical Classes
Where most students would take health their freshman year and design tech later in their high school careers, I did the opposite. I took design tech as a freshman and finally took health as a junior. I’ll be honest when I finally made it into health class there was not much left for me to learn, but if I were to take one thing out of that class it was stress management. In design tech I learned the basics on creating a website with DreamWeaver, it was one of the more useful skills I learned in my technical classes.
Health was a class that I did not like going to everyday. I was in a class with a bunch of kids two years younger than me and they were really not mature enough to handle what we were going over in the class. This being said I really did not get much out of the class. One of the major things I got out of it though was very helpful. I had to make a power point about stress management which was very helpful at the time and it is where my best work came from. I did quite a bit of research on how to manage stress and it really helped me when I overloaded my schedule on myself. Freshman year when I took design tech I was sort of stressing out about school because it was my first year, but design tech never made me stress, it was a calm environment that allowed me to flourish. We created websites to represent different things and it was a very useful skill to learn and I created a lot of cool things. Utilizing this skill in our expanding world of technology will lead to great success. It really is my best work because while I was creating something fun I also learned a useful skill.
The two skills I learned in health and design tech allowed me to flourish in high school. Design tech gave me an understanding of websites, which looking back is great now that I have to make one for my portfolio. I know that I will have to make more in the future and I am glad I got the chance to have the class. The stress management skills I learned in health saved me my junior year, and I will take what I learned there and apply it to the future. I will be able to take anything the world throws at me.
