Exhibit:                      Play Practice Schedule

Benchmark:               Personal Management

Skills:                          P101: Have a good attendance record at school, work and/or extracurricular activities. And P107: be self-motivated in taking responsibility

Dedication is something I pride myself on, especially when it comes to something I love.  I love theatre and I would go to every practice no matter how tired or swamped I was.  I owed it to everyone there to show up and do my job no matter what.  Every practice was important and I needed to be there, and so I tried to miss as few as possible.  Self-motivation is huge part of showing up every day.  I did not have to do theatre but I chose to and I motivated myself to perform as well as I did and show up every time.

We had three practices a week every week.  Monday, Tuesday and Thursday were all days where I had to clear my schedule and dedicate myself to theatre.  I did not miss many practices not only because I enjoyed it so much but I committed to it and I had to stick by it no matter what.  I made it one of my responsibilities and I worked really hard to always be there.  For example one day our dog (a German Sheppard) got out and was attacking our chickens.  I had to run outside in the cold with no shoes on and chase him for 15 minutes until I could finally catch him.  In the midst of all of that chaos he knocked my feet out from under me and I fell headfirst into a corner of our foundation.  In doing this I knocked myself unconscious and I only awoke when my mother roused me.  About five minutes after that I had to leave to go to play practice.  I could not see straight and I had a pounding head ache but I still went because it was near our performance.  I was also one of those kids who would beat everyone else to play practice because I never wanted to be late.  To me being late is very disrespectful, because I said I was going to be there on time. I really have a (P101) have a good attendance record at my extracurricular activities.  There is a lot of self-motivation that goes into an extracurricular like theatre.  I am the only one telling me I have to do it and it took a lot control to make myself go every practice.  It really says that I must (P108) be self-motivated in taking responsibility.

Being self-motivated so that you can have a good attendance record is one of the most important things in your life.  It shows dedication and respect for all of those involved.  In my career I have to be self-motivated because I have to find the clients and I have to make sure I show up to every meeting and shoot.  If I do not show up then I will lose business and my reputation will take a hit.  As of now I am making a good name for myself by being responsible and dependable.  These are qualities that are looked for in everyone, and are very important.
