Exhibit: Photos from Disney
Benchmark: Academic
Skill: Top piece in elective classes (art)
I have always been a creative person and I love art in every single form. My sophomore year I went to Disney World Orlando, with my marching band, at the same time I was taking art. Being that I was going to miss two projects in my art class, I he said I could take pictures and he would count them as my projects for the ones I missed. I loved this idea because I love taking pictures. They were honestly the best work I did in that class because photography and film are my best mediums for art.
We visited many parks when we went to Disney and when I was there I took hundreds of photos, but I only selected a few to turn in. Most of the photos I turned in were form Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I really like taking photos of natural things and this was the perfect chance for me to get some great shots for my art class. One of the photos was of a tiger and as if he was posing for me he put his paws up on the glass and stared right into my lens. It was a beautiful shot and I was proud to turn it in. Throughout the park I found many amazing animals to take pictures of and just beautiful landscape shots that would be perfect for my pieces in art class. I was proud of each photo I took because it really showcased my individuality. They were just beautiful things that I was glad I could share with my class.
Throughout that art class I made a bunch of cool things, but those were truly the best things I made. It reminded me that I should always play to my strengths, while trying to learn new skills. I got to showcase my abilities, which is something I always had trouble doing. It taught me to love the work I did and showed me that other people will appreciate it too.
