Exhibit:                       Accents Video and dramatic reading

Benchmark:                 Teamwork/Communication

Skill:                            TC111: Serve as a leader in your own area of expertise

I am a very talented actor I am especially good at adapting to the natural rhythms of people’s voices along with their tone and pitch changes.  If anyone ever wanted any help with an accent, I could figure it out and teach them how to do it.  Anyone who needs help with accents has all permission to come to me looking for help.  I also learned recently how to do a dramatic sad scene in a performance.  I learned how to put real emotions into it and make it a raw thing.  If anyone ever wanted help to get a tough scene like that down, I would always be ready to help, even though it is really difficult to bring real emotions into it.

I joined theatre as a freshman and ever since then I have been excelling in it.  I am actually very talented, and one thing I found I was really good at was imitation or accents.  Naturally the longer I spend with one person the more I become like them; I adapt their speech patterns along with any quirks they have in their dialects.  This natural thing I was capable of allowed me to create a data bank of information about how individuals or a group of people would talk.  In theatre I could learn to do any accent, and if anyone needed any help with it I was always there to show them how.  I could show them all of the little hints and shortcuts that allowed me to learn the accents so easily and make the role they were playing even better.  My ability to help them showed me (TC111) Serving as a leader in my own area of expertise. Another thing I have gotten very good at is acting in the very difficult emotional scenes.  I learned about how to put real emotion behind it and it was really hard, but I got through it and it made me better as an actor.

I now have the ability to talk to anyone about a scene and show them how to instill real emotions into their words.

As a leader I can use my skills to make others even more successful.  As an Art Director I have to know a lot about what I do.  I have to be able to give helpful information to the people who work with and for me, otherwise I am of no use to my team.  Right now showing leadership and helping people allows my peers and me to do the best we possibly can.  It only takes one person to inspire the masses, and inspiration leads to greatness.
